Celebrating Friendship Through Photography

Spring 2019, I got a Facebook message from my friend Breannah. She was so excited that her best friend Clara, who is from British Colombia, Canada, is going to be in town visiting for a few days. Breannah asked me if she could book a photo shoot with her and Clara. I had never done a friendship photo shoot before so I was excited to try something new.

The minute I had arrived to do their session, I knew it was going to be something special. Breannah and Clara coordinated their outfits, rompers and denim jackets. Even though they hadn't seen each other in months, it didn't seem like that at all. They were so excited to share what was happening in their lives. I told them to think of inside jokes, and just be themselves, pretend I'm not here, and that's what they did. Their infectious laughs and friendship was very clear. Because of that, we together, captured some ADORABLE images that shows why friendship is important.

Times are different right now because of Covid19. We went from being able to see our friends whenever we wanted, to not at all. Yes, we can still chat through social media, texting and schedule video calls, but it's not the same. Friendship is more important than ever! We are all counting down the days, when the restrictions are lifted and we can give our BFF a giant hug again. We are looking forward to festivals, concerts, going to local restaurants, camp fires and more.

There are certain photo shoots that always stick out in my mind for different reasons. Breannah and Clara's shoot was one of them. I definitely encourage everyone to do a photo shoot with their friends. It's a great way to create stories, special moments, and memories you can look back on forever.
